What must an invoice contain?

Almost everywhere: the seller's name and address with the identifiers their country requires (a tax or VAT number, a company registration), the client, an invoice number and a date, each line with its quantity and unit price, the total before VAT, the VAT and the total with VAT.

Which VAT rate can I use?

Any rate your country applies, from 0 to 100 %, decimals included (20, 19, 5.5…). Set 0 for an activity that is exempt.

Does it write the total in words?

Yes, on a French invoice: the closing line « Arrêtée la présente facture à la somme de … » carries the total in words, in dinars, euros or dollars.

Is the invoice generator free?

Yes. It needs no account, and nothing you type is stored. You download the invoice as a PDF.
