Questions
How do I write a reference in APA 7?
Author, then the year in parentheses, then the title in italics, then the publisher: Smith, J. (2020). Writing the thesis. Routledge. In the text it reads (Smith, 2020).
What is the difference between APA and Chicago?
In Chicago author-date the year follows the author without parentheses, an article's title is in quotation marks, and the in-text citation has no comma: (Smith 2020).
Does it work for Arabic sources?
Yes. An Arabic source is punctuated with the Arabic comma, its title is set in bold rather than italics, and undated sources read د.ت.
Will the italics survive when I paste into Word?
Yes. Copying puts the formatted reference on the clipboard as well as the plain text, so Word and Google Docs keep the italics and the bold.
Writing the thesis itself?
Nasa9 sets the whole thesis: the title page, the contents, the references and the indexes, while you only write.
